Day Four was both educational and festive. We participated in a coral conservation program, learning that coral is a marine animal formed by tiny polyps living in symbiosis with algae. Under guidance, we clipped healthy coral fragments and placed them in a lagoon nursery, where they will grow before being transplanted to reefs. Day 7 – Farewell to Bora Bora

On our final day, we flew back to Tahiti from Bora Bora, watching the lagoon’s shifting shades of turquoise fade beneath the plane. After checking into our hotel in Papeete, we collected the custom black pearl necklace we had designed earlier in the week. Its careful craftsmanship and luminous glow felt like a meaningful keepsake — a piece of the ocean to carry home.

Since it was Sunday, much of the town was quiet. We enjoyed a leisurely seaside lunch, listening to local music and feeling the gentle ocean breeze. Later, we stumbled upon a lively square where dancers performed to rhythmic drums, and visitors joined in the celebration. Surrounded by laughter, music, and the relaxed spirit of the island, we realized that weekends here are meant for living, not rushing.
